House of bricks

 Hi am going to show you my writing for house of bricks hope you enjoy!

My favourite Lego activity was the cars because I liked it when we had to test it to make it the furthest but we didn’t not become first, second or third, we were bummed out but at least we bet Tianah and Nia and me and my partner were happy.

My least favourite Lego activity was the pass the bricks because it was supposed to be a self portrait but then it became Ed Sharen and I was really surprised. I thought it would be a face of someone, not me but it turned out to be a singer. 

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was towering because I looked at everybody's tower and they were taller than ours so me and my group started to go fast but then we calmed down and started taking our time, a few minutes later we got second place.

The most challenging activity was the cars because we had to make our car the furthest my partner  and I were very stressed, like every time we changed our design to test which one was better and it was hard to pick one so we just kept on testing and testing until we chose one.  

I did not enjoy working collaboratively with others because it was hard where to put the Lego so I had to think about what they did and I was confused about what to put next.

Girls and Boys

 Hello my is Shyanne and what I've been learning about stereotyping. So stereotyping is a mental bias that can be directed at age, weight, colour and gender and for my create will be around gender. For example boys favourite colour should be blue or girls favourite colour should be pink and that is stereotyping. So my create is all about gender and we had to do a static image this is my practice run my sketch. I hope you like it!

Cellphones

Have you ever known anything about what you're learning about and you needed help?

Hi my name is Shyanne and these are some reasons why you teachers should allow students to use their cellphones during class.

First, children might not understand what you are talking about so they have to tell their friends but if teachers let children use their cellphones they will go into Google and search what you were talking about.

Second, just imagine if your parents are going to be late to pick you up after school and you don’t know about it you can just call them up to see what time they are picking you up or if you don’t know who is picking you up you can just call them.

Third, during school or in the morning when kids are at school early, kids love to play games on their cellphones because it's fun for them.

Lastly, if kids forgot to get their stuff or important stuff you just have to call your parents and then they can drop them off because if you forget to get the stuff you might not get to do whatever you did.

So to recap, kids will need their cellphones because they won’t understand what to do so they have to Google it. They might not know who is picking them up or what time they're going to get picked up. They love games on their phones and if they forgot to get their stuff they have to call their parents.

Growth mindset and fixed mindset

 Hi my name is Shyanne and for today I am to explain what I have been learning about a growth mindset. So I have been learning about what is a growth mindset and what is a fixed mindset. For our create there was a hand full for creates so I picked a comic. I now know what is a growth mindset and a fixed mindset and I believe you have both of them sometimes. No online school!

Hi I am Shyanne and this is why school should not be online. Wonder why people want to see their friends to hang out but when it is online school they don’t talk that much to their friends. Secondly you can learn a lot of stuff at school that you didn’t know about. Thirdly you don’t get destructive easily at school but when you are at home there are a lot of things around you. Fourthly if your family has work and you don’t have anyone there for you then the teachers can take care of you. Fifth you wake up early ready for online school and then you just wait there doing nothing well. When you are at school you wake up early, get dressed, eat breakfast and then you go school then talk to your friends. Lastly at school there are a lot of eyes looking at you and there is no where to go. You can’t just stand up in the middle of the class but if you are in an online class you just walk around. So are you convinced now?

Why school should NOT ban junk food!

 Hi and welcome. This blog post is Why schools should NOT ban junk food. Junk food is good for kids. Bananas, carrots and oranges are a big no, no to kids. "Why does kids don't eat vegetables and fruits?" you asked will kids love junk food because it's sweet, tasty and full with sweet flavour. "Why won't the kids eat there fruits or vegetables?" you might asked its because it looks so yummy, glossy and juicily they can't say no to junk food. I bet you think junk food is delicious. When kids get junk food in their lunches like for example a reward kids will get excited and try their best at school to get another treat. Kids will do anything for treats. Sure you will have cavities but they would because they drink water after the treat and they can brush their teeth. And that is why schools should NOT ban junk food. So schools will you ban junk food now?

My Town recount

 Hello, How is your day? I hope you have a nice day. Today I am going to talk about when my hub and I went to Margaret Mahy. I learnt a lot about Margaret Mahy but mostly Victoria Square and there were alot of things that I did not know about Margaret Mahy. It was a lot of fun at Margaret Mahy. I hope you like it. Enjoy. 

20/5/21 my hub and myself and the teachers went to Margaret Mahy. We had to learn about the Waka, the Margaret Mahy playground that I had fun with, Victoria Square Tuna and mats and I learnt a lot and I had fun playing. The first thing that my group had to do was feed the Tuna then we had to ride the Waka. Next we had to walk to Mrs Brown to learn about Victoria Square and last but not least we had to learn about Margaret Mahy. 

My favourite part of the trip was learning about Victoria Square because I didn’t even know that the name Victoria from Victoria Square was actually named by the Queen, Queen Victoria and I was so, so, so, surprised and I didn’t even know. I also learnt about the pou and Maori designs.

Something I learnt was the Margaret Mahy playground. I didn’t even know that there was a song like a real song, etched into the story arc. The chant is about the first Ngai Tahu people arriving in New Zealand. I was surprised like the most surprised in the group.

The thing I found the most interesting was the Waka, I never knew that the Māori people traded their goods to other people and that's why they used Waka and my mouth was hanging on my face.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because I never knew that there were maps around the Town and pou skechers so I can bring some of the stuff to St Francis of Assisi so people know that we are a school of Aotearoa.

Waka: For the waka we had to ride a waka and let me say that my arms were tired and burning so we jumped in the Waka with oar and it was heavy. So we had to do about 3 or 4 laps around Avon and we had to shout out “HE HA!” when we had to move our oars and let me say that my thumb was red like the red book that I use for maths, it got hit all the time. When we jumped out the waka I was sweating a little bit.

Tuna and mats: So for the mats they were stuck in the ground. We had to learn about what the meanings of the mats and of course I learnt what I meanings of the mats are then after when we were finish we get to feed the tuna but there had to be 6 people to feed the tuna’s and I was not the first 6 that get to feed the tuna. Well the 6 people that got to feed the tuna we had to play at the most popular playground and it was my turn to feed the tuna, the first group of 6 did not see any tuna but when it was my turn we saw 2 tuna’s and it was so cool.

Victoria Square: So we had to walk to Victoria Square and when I saw peoples faces they looked tired when we got to Victoria Square. Our activities were that we had to look around Victoria Square and there were things that I didn’t even know about when we were done. We got to eat and eating is one of my talents. 3 to 4 minutes later we had to draw a pou and that is one of my talents and then we were done.

Margaret Mahy: So for our last thing we have to do is go around and look for stuff and it was fun, we get to learn about the tiles and we get to do some art and I really love it.
